At home in arctic and alpine tundra, boreal forest, temperate rainforest, and sagebrush steppe, Matt has been working in plant conservation science and pollinator ecology for thirty years. He has B.S. degrees in Biology and Art from Willamette University and a Ph.D. in Biology from University of Alaska Fairbanks. He has worked for the Oregon State Department of Agriculture’s Plant Conservation Science Program, the Institute of Applied Ecology as Director of Restoration, and for the University of Alaska Anchorage as Director of a grant-funded biological conservation and natural resource management center.
